Exmouth United continued their fight for Division 1 survival with an excellent show against visitors Whipton Youth. United dominated from the start and were unfortunate not to take the lead when striker Cayleb Field was upended in the box and a penalty was awarded, but missed. It was right winger Patryk Plachecki who broke the deadlock when he drove into the box and finished coolly. Exmouth stepped up a gear when Jay Leballeur came on from the bench - the substitute scoring twice and teeing up Seb Harrison with a neat assist. Keeper Harry Kifli-Reynolds was excellent between the sticks and his bravery and distribution helped keep United on top.
With the score 4-1 at half-time, Whipton tightened up at half-time and made a real contest of the second-half. They broke multiple times but were unable to get past the central defensive partnership of Bryn Stephens and Daniel Alford who were solid throughout. Towards the end United created a number of chances including a splendid effort from captain Lewis Evans. Fittingly, it was Leballeur who completed a superb performance with his hat-trick.
Full backs Harry Bassett and Tom Price were instrumental in preventing attacks down the wings, there robust tackling typical of the competitive spirit showed by everyone in the home team. In central midfield, Dylan Mogford and Tommy Foa dominated the pitch for the entire match.

Pinhoe Spartans 4-3 Exmouth United
United put on a very impressive show against Pinhoe Spartans on a day when they only had 9 players available. Pinhoe took the lead but Exmouth's passing was excellent and they fought back to lead 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. The home side managed to snatch victory with a last minute penalty but United's outstanding performance showed the significant progress they have made this season in terms of team play and, as ever, demonstrated their superb team spirit.

Exmouth United 3-2 Moors Hawks
A fantastic team effort saw Exmouth United Under 13s claim their first league victory of the season against Moors Hawks. United started strongly and got into a good passing rhythm. After some good pressure from the home side Moors conceded an own goal but the visitors quickly equalised to make it 1-1 at the interval. The rest of the first-half was hotly contested with both teams creating chances and moving the ball around nicely.
The second-half was a gripping affair in which United struck twice to take it to 3-1. Winger Jay Leballeur, assisted by Cayleb Field, grabbed the first and Tommy Foa jinked his way through the Moors defence to make it 3. After that, Moors threw everything at United and managed to pull one back to bring on a very tense final 10 minutes. However, the home team showed great maturity and battled valiantly to keep Moors at bay and to seal the win. Every Exmouth United player gave their all to a superb team performance.

A fantastic fun night was had by all when parents and siblings joined Exmouth United Under 13s at the Christmas party! There were some great shots, some great tackles and plenty of congestion (due to playing 12-a-side on a 5-a-side pitch!).
Thanks to all the players and their families for your effort and support this year. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Exmouth United 1-3 Central United
On a blustery day it was Central United that sealed victory in a hard fought game in which both the hosts, Exmouth United, and the visitors played some nice football. Central had the early pressure and made it pay with two goals. However, the hosts held their nerve and continued to play their football. They created a number of openings and were unlucky not to have a goal by half-time.
Exmouth created more in the second half and were rewarded when Bryn Stephens chipped over a crowded defence to release Lewis Evans whose shot was parried and pushed home by Cayleb Field. It was Central who found the target next but Exmouth continued to work hard right up to the final whistle. There were some notable defensive performances from Daniel Alford and Owen Brady for the home side.

Cup First Round: Exmouth United 11-2 Broadclyst Youth
Exmouth United Under 13s brought their "A game" to the first round cup tie against Broadclyst Youth. After just 3 minutes they took the lead when Cayleb Field's effort was parried and Jay Leballeur tucked in the rebound. United moved the ball around superbly and it was soon 2-0 when Bryn Stephens crossed for Field to chip in. Leballeur turned provider when his corner was volleyed in by midfielder Lewis Evans.
Next it was the turn of right winger Stephens who scored with a deft left-foot effort. Goalkeeper Lewis Alford was having a quiet day but stepped up to convert a penalty and make it 5. United were protected at the back by some very strong defending from Owen Brady, Daniel Alford, Dylan Mogford and Jack Greaves.
In spite of the visitors getting one back Exmouth continued to dominate. Stephens crossed to set up a debut goal for Anthony van de Bunte. Tommy Foa was alert as the second-half keeper and started a number of attacks with his accurate passing. Evans and Alford both got their second to make it 8-1. Next Mogford delivered a great cross from the right for Tom Price to slot past the keeper. Broadclyst scored another before Seb Harrison dribbled from his own half all the way through to score an individual wonder goal. Leballeur topped off an excellent team performance to grab a brace and make it 11-2.
